Max Mathews - Bicycle Built for Two (1961/2007)
Composed for synthetic speech at Bell Telephone Laboratories in 1961 by Max Mathews, John Kelly and Carol Lockbaum and made famous by its use in Kubrick's 2001, "Bicycle Built for Two" is presented here by Max Mathews to celebrate his 80th birthday at the StanfordComputer History Museum, 2007. Stanley Kubrick's Chicago
Before he started making movies, Stanley Kubrick was a star photojournalist. In the summer of 1949, Look magazine sent him to Chicago to shoot pictures for a story called "Chicago City of Contrasts."You can see a selection of photographs here.
