Woody Vasulka - Art of Memory (1987)

3 stills from "Art of Memory" by Woody Vasulka. A poignant and pioneering work of video art and electronic imagery that combines images of American landscapes, Spanish civil war, nuclear weapons, world war II and a man photographing an angel to explore the recorded image and the memory of the 20th century. All footage is skillfully manipulated into huge sculptural forms that shift across the American southwest. Art of Memory utilizes the Rutt/Etra scan processor amongst other techniques.
